How Not To Drown

As Artistic Director of ThickSkin I have directed work that has toured the UK and to New York and Brazil. Winning numerous awards at the Edinburgh Fringe including a Fringe First for 'How Not To Drown' in 2019.

I'm an experienced workshop leader and teacher having led workshops and residencies all over the world in devising and physical theatre.

I was Associate Director for Frantic Assembly, directing 11 Ignition project performances and the national tour of Anna Jordan's 'The Unreturning' for which I was nominated for 'Best Director' at the Off West End awards 2019.

As Associate Movement Director on the multi-award winning 'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child' until 2021, I worked on the shows in London, New York, Melbourne, San Fransisco and Hamburg.

I have recently started to explore sound design and composition for my own work and was nominated for a What's On Stage award for the sound design on ThickSkin's Blood Harmony in 2023.  Most recently I composed the music and sound for Peak Stuff which has been touring the UK as well as creating bespoke audio walking tours that use GPS to trigger sound adventures as you walk.

"Visually, Bedknobs and Broomsticks is a delight from start to finish. Neil Bettles’ flowing choreography complements the taut direction of Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison. The magic – including Eglantyne’s first foray into broomstick flying and the flying beadstead – is, well, magical, supporting the story well."
